We’re excited to announce our latest Douglas Fir Resort
& Chalets giveaway!
In 1968 the name of the resort changed to Douglas Fir Chalets, named after the stately Douglas fir trees in the area. Eighteen A-frame chalets were built, and the resort was opened for the winter.
The cabins had animal names, for example Chalet Bear, Chalet Eagle, Chalet Cougar, Chalet Raven, Chalet Wolf, Chalet Beaver, Chalet Caribou, Chalet Elk, and Chalet HoHo (a mythological bird from Native American art and traditions). Carvings, which can still be seen today, were made on each of the chalets to represent their animal.
So if you had to name one of our chalets, what would you name it and why? Name it after yourself, your dog, your favourite song or a memory that reminds you of your trip to your Banff hotel, we welcome all name suggestions.
What you win – A one night stay in either our 2 Bedroom or 3 Bedroom A-Frame Chalet named after your entry!

enter:
Simply ‘LIKE’ our Facebook page and share your name suggestion on our wall!
Competition Open: June 5th 2012 9am
Competition Close: Thursday June 28th at 5pm
Winner – A selection of our favourite Chalet names will be chosen and then put to your vote! You decide what we should call one of our Chalets. The winning name will be used on one of our Chalets for a month. Public voting begins Friday June 29th and closes Friday July 6th. The overall winner will be announced Monday July 9th.
The fine print:
You
can enter as many times as you like
Entrants
must be 18 years or older
If
contestants are unable to post to our Facebook wall they can send their name
suggestions to Alison@douglasfir.com where it will be posted for them
The
contest opens on June 5th 2012 9am and closes Thursday June 28th
at 5p MST
Public
voting for the winner begins Friday June 29th and closes
Friday July 6th. The overall winner will be announced Monday July 9th.
The
‘Name a Chalet, Win a Stay’ winner will receive a 1-night getaway to the
Douglas Fir Resort. Valid Sunday – Friday night. Some conditions and blackout
dates may apply
The
winner will have one of our A-Frame Chalets named after their chosen
competition name for a month.
The
winner will be announced via the DRF blog and also contacted personally via
Facebook or e-mail if it has been provided
