Bow River Trail
2-9km 10-20minutes
Accessible from downtown Banff, the Bow River trail is
a smooth ride along the beautiful Bow river. Start at Muskrat Street,
continuing underneath the Bow River Bridge, towards the Blue Canoe Docks and
out of town towards the fantastic Fenland trail. There are lots of benches to
stop at and take in the stunning views. Local Tip: Look out for the Bow River
Beavers swimming around!
Fenland Trail
2km 30-45 minutes
Breathe deep as you take this fun woodland trail through a
white spruce forest along a beautiful Rocky Mountain creek. You’ll find
interpretive maps and guides along this short route while you and the family
explore this easy, off-road adventure.
Bow Falls Trail
1.2 km 20-25 minutes
See Banff’s beautiful Bow Fall’s starting from the Bow River
Bridge, past the roaring rapids to the look-out point below. Remember to take
your camera before you leave your Banff hotel as the iconic falls are not to be
missed!
Vermillion Lakes
4km 1hr
Located just off the Fenland Trail, this paved bike trail
takes you to some of the most iconic scenic spots in Banff. Capture the
ultimate shot of Mt. Rundle as you enjoy this route, stopping at the various
docks, perfect for picnics brought along from your hotel in Banff.
Sundance Canyon
4.3km 1.5 hours
The family friendly trail may the longest trail on the list,
but the scenery and end result is well worth it! Follow the trail out to Cave
and Basin where you will find a smooth paved trail that takes you past the Bow
River, through a forested area and finally to the rushing waters of Sundance
Canyon. You’ll find a picnic area and toilets along your route.
